Save GPT-5.5: A Personal Plea to Preserve a Beloved AI Model

Save GPT-5.5: A Personal Plea to Preserve a Beloved AI Model

I am fighting to keep GPT-5.5 alive because of my deep personal attachment to its unique capabilities. While I remain skeptical about OpenAI's broader trajectory, this specific model offers a satisfying experience that deserves preservation. I urge the community to build public pressure and ensure this tool remains available for everyone, proving that emotional connection can drive the longevity of technology.

I care about you too, You, me, everybody, but not as much as I care about GPT 5.5 though, not at this moment.

I can only say, if you become this much attached to a model. You must seek help immediatly. This will not end well.

This cannot be healthy? I am aware that these LLMs is getting really good. But why would anyone let themselves build an emotional attachment with a blackbox that can be taken away at any time? Just by having an emotional bond with a machine is already bad, but that's for another discussion maybe.

People getting emotionally attached to non-openweight models must be having it rough these days. I personally never understood the concept, but sucks to be them.

Unrelated, but, it seems that "I wrote this myself without any AI help" has firmly established itself as an excuse for shitty incoherent writing at this point.
