Apple's iPhone keyboard quietly blocks swipe-typing for over 100,000 words and phrases
Apple Keyboard has a blacklist of phrases you can't swipe

Independent researcher Derik Kauffman dug a hidden "grey list" out of Apple's operating system: more than 100,000 words and phrases its predictive text refuses to complete. Alongside drugs and sexual terms sit politically charged entries like "Dictator Trump," "Trayvon Martin," "Kashmir dispute" and "male chauvinist pig" — plus "the occupied territories" in Hebrew and "the Hamas movement" in Arabic. Swipe-typing them often misfires, turning "United Ireland" into "United Iceland." Kauffman calls it a light-touch form of censorship; Apple says the keyboard simply avoids offensive suggestions and that users can always type words out.
Apple's iPhone will not autocomplete references to drugs, sexual acts and, perhaps in the spirit of corporate protection, "iMessage isn't working."
