This survival kit runs a local AI and offline Wikipedia from a USB stick

Offline survival assistant – local LLM and Kiwix, runs from a USB stick

A GitHub project called Survival AI packages practical guides, a local language model running on llama.cpp or Ollama, and Kiwix offline libraries like medical Wikipedia and Where There Is No Doctor onto a laptop or USB drive. It answers questions in natural language with cited sources, serves a browser interface over local Wi-Fi, and still works without a model using plain Python search. A one-time online setup downloads the model and ZIM files.

If the internet, power and services go down, this kit keeps working on a laptop or USB drive.
