Garry Tan spends up to $200K a year on AI tokens
YC's Garry Tan uses AI agents so much, he spends up to $200K a year on tokens

Y Combinator CEO Garry Tan told Walter Isaacson's podcast that he spends $100,000 to $200,000 a year on AI tokens, using agents for coding, research, and daily life — his agents have read 20 years of his therapy notes. YC even runs an internal agent called Stray Light with the full context of every founder it has backed. Tan says agents must get cheaper before they go mainstream.
