Why I'm Sticking With Pages Over TextEdit

TextEdit vs. Pages

Dr. Drang rarely touches a word processor, but for one-off notes he still prefers Pages to TextEdit. TextEdit's toolbar can't be hidden and its zoom jumps in coarse doubles and halves, while Pages tucks its customizable toolbar into the title bar and offers templates like his own Big Note. He concedes TextEdit's lighter memory footprint but says his 48 GB MacBook Pro makes that moot.

Honestly, who needs buttons for bold and italic? Or left, center, and right justification? This is no better than Word's buttons for cut, copy, and paste.
