BYD outsold the entire US EV market in a single month

BYD moved a record 305,743 battery-electric vehicles in October, up 37% year over year and the first time it has cleared 300,000 in a month. For comparison, the US sold just over 262,500 EVs across all of Q3, per Kelley Blue Book. Total new energy vehicle sales hit 490,168, with plug-in hybrids sliding 17%. Exports reached 170,194 for the month, and BYD expects roughly 2 million overseas shipments by year's end.

While the US is coming off its best quarter of the year in EV sales, BYD's performance shows how far ahead China is in the transition to electric vehicles.
