Business jet plunges into Florida neighborhood, killing all nine aboard

Private Jet plane crashes in Florida

A Learjet 60 flying from Austin to the Bahamas went down in Greenacres, Florida, on Sunday, narrowly missing homes before exploding near a busy road. All nine people on board died, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said. Radio recordings show the pilot reporting ice and turbulence, then declaring a mayday as the jet dove at up to 30,000 feet per minute. The NTSB is investigating; no one on the ground was reported hurt.

We're going to crash into the ground.

There's a thread on pprune about this incident. The usual mix of informed and less-informed speculation.

It’s amazing to me that this post already feels quite old. But then I realized it only happened yesterday. I just feel that way because in today’s world we have seven different dashcam or security camera video feeds popping up on Reddit or X or whatever within minutes of a news event like this.

Sad story in this case. The cockpit audio was quite chilling.

Don’t just crash. Was full throttle into the ground, by the looks of it.

Is it possible to look up who owned the plane? Curious if it was a charter.
