Hackers turned supermarket freezers up to 50°C, spoiling food across Europe
Supermarket freezers in Belgium and Sweden hit by suspected cyber-attack

A suspected cyber-attack knocked out refrigeration at dozens of supermarkets in Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden and Ireland, forcing stores to dump millions of euros of food. One Swedish ICA branch reported its freezer temperature had been set to 50°C. Delhaize said 40 shops were hit overnight and one branch lost €100,000 in produce. National cyber-security agencies in Belgium and Sweden are monitoring the incident, which follows a similar attack on hundreds of French supermarkets last month.
Our refrigerators and freezers have been hacked overnight and they have set the temperature to 50 degrees.
