PsiQuantum turns its quantum photonics platform toward AI data center switches

Optical Circuit Switch Technology Built on Low-Loss Silicon Photonics Platform

PsiQuantum unveiled an 8×8 optical circuit switch built on the low-loss silicon photonics platform it has spent nearly a decade developing for fault-tolerant quantum computing. Lab tests show 1.2 dB insertion loss, 40 dB crosstalk, and under 3 ms reconfiguration time, all without amplification. Samples are going to select customers, with commercial products planned for the coming months. The company says its quantum-grade requirements exceed what AI data centers need.

This opportunity exists because we chose to solve the hardest scaling problems at the beginning of our roadmap to utility-scale quantum computing.
