Norway's roadside toilets are becoming tourist attractions in their own right

Norway makes shithouses great again

Along Norway's 18 Scenic Routes, public restrooms have become architectural showpieces designed by firms like Snøhetta and Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter. The Stegastein viewpoint loo ranks among the world's ten best public toilets, Ureddplassen's wave-shaped facility drew praise from The Telegraph, and others hide beneath a German radar ruin or run on solar power. Some sit above the Arctic Circle and open only in summer, and a forest-inspired design built from roughly 60 to 70 trees is on the way.

Norway has opened what might be the most idyllic public convenience in the world.
