Massie and Khanna Move to Let Victims and States Sue the DOJ Over Withheld Epstein Files

Reps. Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna, joined by Teresa Leger Fernández and Sens. Jeff Merkley and Ben Ray Luján, introduced the Epstein Files Transparency Act II. It creates a private right of action letting state attorneys general, members of Congress, and Epstein's victims sue the U.S. Attorney General for withholding over 3 million files and keeping heavy redactions despite the original transparency law signed in November 2025. A discharge petition follows if the House stalls for seven legislative days.

The Department of Justice continues to unlawfully withhold over 3 million Epstein files that should be released to the public.
