Patrick Stewart, Star Trek's Captain Picard, Dies at 86
Patrick Stewart Has Died

Patrick Stewart, who rose from a bleak childhood in England's coal country to become a celebrated Shakespearean actor before finding global fame as Captain Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation, died Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles at 86, from Alzheimer's disease and Lewy body dementia. He also played Professor X in five X-Men films and returned to the Enterprise in Star Trek: Picard, while never abandoning the stage.
They used to ask me 'Why, why, why?' as if I was somehow slumming it. What snobbery! For huge numbers of people, I will always be Jean-Luc Picard, and that's fine. I really believe we created an admirable individual.
