Astroterm: A Planetarium for Your Terminal

Astroterm renders a real-time planetarium inside your terminal

Written in C, astroterm draws the real-time positions of stars, planets, constellations, and moon phases as ASCII art, configurable by date, time, and location. It ships through Arch, Fedora, Homebrew, Nix, and Guix, and you can even replay the sky over Kennedy Space Center on the morning of the Apollo 11 launch. Lightweight, fast, and MIT-licensed.

astroterm is a terminal-based star map written in C. It displays the real-time positions of stars, planets, constellations, and more, all within your terminal—no telescope required!

    ASCII-rendered visuals looks pretty decent.

After reading the first sentence, I cannot stop imagining some Rust people cannot stop salivating at the prospect to a version saying, "written in Rust", "safe", etc. ~
