Keybytes - Truly modular keyboard with rearrangeable magnetic keys

Keybytes reimagines the keyboard as a fully modular system where every key is its own 1u PCB. Each Keybit packs a CH32V003 RISC-V microcontroller and pogo pins on all four sides for power and I2C, letting keys snap together in any arrangement. A Keyword main board with an STM32WB55RGV6 adds Bluetooth and USB connectivity, while magnetic cases hold the modules in place. The board also programs each key over pogo pins and stores firmware in 2MB QSPI flash. With battery charging, a buck-boost converter, and USB-C, it's a hackable keyboard for anyone who wants to rebuild their layout on a whim.

A truly modular keyboard with rearrangeable keys, magnetic cases and Bluetooth!

Is there a mouse module? Can you connect in a "staggered" manner rather than in a linear grid?

  2. IllIIlIlIlIIIIl

This is a really neat idea for a macro keyboard. If it supported staggered rows and row heights, not to mention structural rigidity it would be good for everyday use too.

    This is awesome!

How does the rigidity of the keyboard hold up with many keys and what's the cost of the materials at higher order quantity?
