Railpass: German train stops, but a sign reading "somewhere near New York"

A Hacker News discussion of Railpass, a train-themed site at train.samismith.com. The linked page couldn't be fetched, so the thread is mostly a small exchange: one commenter asks why the stops are in Germany while the ticker sign says "somewhere near New York." A moderator flags another comment as a guidelines violation, then admits it's genuinely funny if it was meant as a joke.

I have to add, though: if you meant this as a joke, it's actually really funny! So it's a bit of a Shrödinger cat I suppose.

There's something very analogue about this site. Relaxing in a way. Thanks for this.

(slight improvement for weather effects - they don't always move in the direction of the train)

I don't really get Finland. It says Finland–Helsinki Airport, but the stops say Lempäälä and Toijala. Those are about 150km from Helsinki Airport and there is no direct train between them (Lempäälä/Toijala and Helsinki Airport).

I thought Railpass must be be a new vulnerability in Rails.
