Cecilia Berdichevsky ran Argentina's first scientific computer, nicknamed Clementina

Cecilia Berdichevsky, born Mirjam Tuwjasz in Poland in 1925, emigrated to Argentina as a child and became a computer scientist. At 31 she studied mathematics under Manuel Sadosky and programmed the Ferranti Mercury, Argentina's first large scientific computer, nicknamed Clementina after it was made to play "Oh My Darling, Clementine." Arriving from England in 1961 at a cost of US$300,000, it was 18 metres long and the most powerful machine in the country.

Mercury could not perform more than one operation at the same time, and they were the three basic arithmetical operations: addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
