Anthropic's "superfan" agents watch every system component so engineers don't have to

Agentic Monitoring

Anthropic's engineering team assigns Claude agents to obsess over the health of individual components, and the author argues this points to a bigger shift: agents are structurally better suited to monitoring than humans. They scan logs endlessly, write per-change queries on the fly, and catch subtle regressions traditional alerts miss. A prototype that pairs an agent-written monitoring spec with a deterministic execution harness detected regressions in unfamiliar systems at a fraction of the token cost.

They have access to our telemetry and logs, and act like an experienced engineer who has nothing better to do than to refresh charts and look for anything strange.
