A Collector Has Archived 2,669 Sealed Vintage Cassettes From 1963 to 2010

Vintage Cassettes: 1963-2010

Vintage Cassettes is a personal archive of sealed compact cassettes, organized by brand and year, with the heaviest coverage from 1970 to 1990. It catalogs 2,669 unique tapes across US, European, and Japanese markets, from AGFA and BASF to TDK and Sony, and includes a history of the format. The site doesn't sell anything; it points buyers to eBay and notes that some sealed tapes fetch steep prices.

Collecting vintage cassettes is a great hobby and brings all good memories back.

I got really into this design aesthetic a while ago. Once you recognize it, you see it more and more. Some examples/sources:

Very cool. I really need to get back into recording to my cassettes. It was a lot of fun just as a way to explore music and then burn what I liked into a fun format. This project has not gotten a lot of love from me since some life changes but this is what I was using to generate printable J-Cards from my navidrome instance.

If anyone is interested it would be a good place to point your agent to.

TDK SA C-90 were my favorites - excellent sound quality and durability, not too expensive.
