Amsterdam police confisquates server left-wing ISP A/I at American request
Amsterdam police seized a server from Italian internet service provider Autistici/Inventati (A/I) at a data center on Science Park, acting on a US mutual legal assistance request. A digital copy is being sent to America. The US government considers A/I to have facilitated 'antifa', which it deems a terrorist organization, and sanctioned A/I in late August. The volunteer-run ISP, which provided free hosting and email to 20,000 organizations for 25 years, dismantled itself after losing bank and domain access.
The police in Amsterdam had the server picked up based on a US mutual legal assistance request. 'You just carry that out,' a spokesperson said by telephone. Digital experts from the police are now making an 'image' of it, a digital copy. 'That goes straight to America.'
