NYC's 'Click to Cancel' rule is now in effect

New York City's first-in-the-nation municipal rule, enforced by the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, now requires businesses to let consumers cancel subscriptions as easily as they signed up. Violations carry civil penalties starting at $525, and consumers can file complaints online, by mail, or by fax.
