APSW, Another Python SQLite Wrapper, exposes the complete SQLite C API to CPython 3.10 and later, including full text search, sessions, virtual tables, VFS, JSON, and CArray. It works in synchronous code and all async frameworks. The author recommends the builtin sqlite3 module if you want SQLite to look interchangeable with other database drivers, and APSW when you want to use SQLite fully.
