PSPi 6 – Raspberry Pi in a PSP

PSPi 6: Raspberry Pi in a PSP

PSPi 6 is a custom circuit board that replaces the mainboard of a PSP 1000, letting a Raspberry Pi power the handheld. It supports Raspberry Pi Zero, Zero 2W, and CM4, runs Linux distributions like RetroPie and Ubuntu, and uses all original PSP controls. The open-source hardware is available as a ready-made board or DIY kit.

This is my passion project that transforms the classic PSP 1000 into a modern handheld using a Raspberry Pi.

Anyone who has a PSP laying around somewhere should go have a look at it because the battery in them consistently turn into a rather spicy pillow. Which I guess makes mod like this more interesting.

it's an interesting idea for sure but there's always been a plethora of homebrew emulators for the PSP. do they not work well anymore? Or does the Pi just have more modern emulator options?
