hangul.ink - AI model generates Korean handwriting strokes
Show HN: Happy Hangul Day! An RNN for Generating Korean Handwriting Strokes

hangul.ink is a browser-based AI model that generates Korean handwriting as animated pen strokes, not pixels. Trained on 4,500 lines of real handwriting from a single writer, it produces unique, pressure-sensitive strokes for any Korean text you type. With only 350,000 parameters, it runs entirely in your browser—no server needed. Released to celebrate Hangul Day, it's the first publicly available Korean handwriting model. You can try the demo, download animated SVGs, and even use the open-source code and data to build your own applications.
To celebrate Hangul Day this year, I am releasing an AI model that generates Hangul handwriting strokes. As far as I know, it's the first one that's publicly available.

Nice! Did you find any weird/funny case while training the model? [I remember autotranlation/readers inventing stuff a few years ago.]
> Drive a real mechanical pen
> I think it would be fun to hook the output of this model up to a real pen. I'm not sure of the use case, but maybe you're an artist and have some ideas?
If you get someone to make a few samples and photos, it would be very nice.

It seems that in some sentences, the Korean ending '다 da' is not being output.
the AI definitely write better than me.
P.S. I checked the issue: when I input '다.', it outputs '다', but when I input '다', it outputs '디'.

This is really cool, I wanted to do something similar for hanzi (Chinese characters) so I could practise Chinese handwriting.
