OpenAI Claims a Century-Old Math Breakthrough, but Mathematicians Are Furious

OpenAI announced that its AI solved the Partition Principle, a problem open for over a century. Set theorist Asaf Karagila, who has worked on it for 15 years, calls the preprint a mess: unclear, poorly structured, and citing unpublished lecture notes. He argues it would be desk-rejected as an academic paper and warns that such stunts risk convincing funders and policymakers that mathematicians can be replaced by bots.

OpenAI drops some hundreds of "solutions", incomprehensibly written "solutions", and we are all expected to jump on them and what? Appreciate their contributions? Why?
