Utah to let AI examine patients and prescribe medication without human oversight

Utah has become the first state to allow an AI to examine patients and prescribe medication without direct human oversight. Nolla Health's $4.99-per-month app scans a user's face, rates acne severity, and recommends one of eight topical treatments. The one-year program is limited to mild-to-moderate acne, with the first 100 prescriptions reviewed by doctors and later ones checked retrospectively.
While this is a small program, it could be the very first step toward AI taking the place of doctors, or at least being used to treat less serious conditions in patients.
