Greenvolt begins building 600 MW/2.4 GWh BESS in Poland

Greenvolt Power has broken ground on a 600 MW/2.4 GWh battery energy storage system in Siedlce, Poland, with BYD Energy Storage supplying the batteries and commercial operation targeted for the end of 2027. The project will use 210 battery containers and 105 transformer containers, connecting to the PSE transmission grid at 400 kV. Together with its Turośń Kościelna and Ełk projects, Greenvolt will reach 1 GW and 4 GWh of storage capacity in Poland.
Once Siedlce, Turośń Kościelna and Ełk are operating, Greenvolt will have 1 GW of battery power capacity and 4 GWh of storage capacity in Poland.
