Tippett Studios' Lost Animation Archive Rescued by an Anonymous Fan
In the wake of closure, a digital archive of animated materials appears online
After Tippett Studios closed in August, an anonymous donor known as 'TippettFan' bought a folder of CD-ROMs at the auction and uploaded 90 ISO images to the Internet Archive. The collection includes behind-the-scenes material from RoboCop, Starship Troopers, and the original Star Wars, plus CGI test clips and a 2008 Phil Tippett interview.
I quickly realized that some of this information wasn’t available online and might not ever be in the future in such high resolution. So I purchased the disc folder and digitized all of its contents.
