GrapheneOS fixes Android 17 QPR1 kernel regression that freezes Pixels
GrapheneOS has fixed the Android 17 QPR1 kernel performance regression

Android 17 QPR1, released for Pixels on September 15, introduced a kernel driver regression causing stuttering, lag, and freezes under memory pressure. GrapheneOS patched it for its release today, but Google's fix may not arrive until December 2026. The project is now handling basic updates and quality control for the entire OS, and has also found a way to cut most extra memory use from its secure spawning feature.
They either cancel the release (Pixel 11) or ship a broken release (everything else).
