RacketCon Returns for Its 16th Year with a Turing Award Winner and a New FFI

RacketCon Is Saturday

RacketCon 2026, the sixteenth gathering for the Racket programming language, takes place this Saturday and Sunday with both in-person and streaming options. Highlights include a keynote by Pat Hanrahan, Turing Award winner and RenderMan designer, plus talks on type inference, low-level programming with Pille, IDE-friendly macros, floating-point accuracy with Herbie, effect handlers, OOP with BrandX, immutable dataframes, and a new FFI. A town hall closes the event.

Floating-point math requires rounding, so it’s not perfectly accurate. But how inaccurate it is depends on how you do your computation: two ways of writing the same mathematical formula can have radically different accuracy.
