Google's Developer Verification Program Forces Solo Devs to Pay $25 and Reveal Their Identity
Fuck Android Developer Verification Program
A developer's Play Store account was closed for inactivity, and when he tried to publish a new app, he couldn't restore it. He then discovered that distributing an APK via F-Droid requires signing up for Google's Android Developer Verification Program, which costs $25 and demands personal identity verification — even for free apps with no revenue. The program also applies to users under 20, who must register with a verified payments profile.
Tell me @Google, can I write "Fuck you" there? or should I be a lickaboot loyal little rule-follower and write a love letter there?
