Show HN: Parrot – Open-Source Smart Meeting Recorder with Co-Pilot on Mac

Parrot - Open-Source AI Meeting Recorder with Live Copilot for Mac

Parrot is a free, open-source meeting recorder and live copilot for Mac that runs entirely on your machine. It auto-detects calls, transcribes and identifies speakers locally, and suggests answers from your own documents while you're still talking. No bots join your meetings, and your audio never leaves your Mac. With support for Ollama, Claude, OpenAI, and more, Parrot adapts to your workflow. It generates post-call reports with action items and coaching, and integrates with Claude Desktop and Cursor. Available for macOS 14+ on Apple Silicon.

Help during the call. Not after it.

Tried this out, and it might be due to other apps on my computer or something but the audio it records has a echo. When I go to play back a speaker's voice it sounds I can hear what sounds like 2 audio streams, slightly offset. Maybe it's something to do with SoundSource/ARC or my other meeting transcribing app.

One more feature I'd love is the ability to export the text/transcript in markdown automatically. I have another tool (MeetingTranscriber) that does this and I like that so I can put the transcripts in my Obsidian Vault which I already expose to the various agents I use.

instead of calling it "co-pilot" maybe call it something like "Coach", Assistant, or anything that doesn't connect it to Copilot from Microsoft b/c that's what I thought it meant

There are so many of these already out there.
