Vespper launched a DOCX MCP that lets AI agents edit Word documents through a clean HTML representation, then uses a trained model to reconcile changes back into OOXML. On 279 editing tasks with GPT 5.6 Sol and Terra, it ran 3× faster, 2× cheaper, and more accurately than SuperDoc, Office CLI, Adeu, Anthropic's DOCX skill, and a plain python-docx harness.
Instead of building a giant reconciliation engine and chasing every edge case with hand-written code, we decided to train a model to be the reconciler.
