Nissan's third generation e-POWER powertrain
Nissan's third-generation e-POWER system combines a purpose-built engine with a new 5-in-1 modular electric unit that integrates the motor, reducer, inverter, increaser, and generator. The design increases current flow for greater output while reducing energy losses, and uses silicon carbide semiconductors to further improve efficiency. The engine operates at a constant speed with stable combustion, enabling a high compression ratio and high EGR rate. The result is significantly better fuel efficiency and quietness compared to the second generation.
