Lofi Cities is a free web app that pairs animated pixel-art city nights with endless lofi music generated live in your browser. Choose from 11 cities like Paris, Tokyo, and New York, each with unique weather, landmarks, and ambient sounds. The music is composed on the fly using the Web Audio API, with styles ranging from jazzhop to ambient, ensuring a never-ending stream. No downloads, accounts, or pop-ups—just a calm background for studying, working, or relaxing. Features include a Pomodoro timer, sleep timer, mini player, and interactive elements like releasing lanterns and sending reactions.
Every track is composed on the spot with the Web Audio API: a chord progression, a drum groove, a bass line and often a melody, finished with tape wobble and vinyl crackle. Everything is synthesized in real time, with no samples or recordings, so the stream never runs out.

The product hunt ad is breaking the immersion for me. I know that most cities have ads but still, I prefer ad free pixel art.
It’s also not realistic, in one landscape the billboard is taller than a 9 story building.

There's a lot to like here, but too AI-generated for me. The pixel art for Tokyo & Hong Kong don't use proper Chinese/Japanese characters. The pulsating badges in the non-pixel UI are also pretty AI-indicative in a way that is distracting.

I had a similar idea yesterday - https://www.lofiwizard.com/ - I mainly wanted to have Opus 5.5 generate random browser scenes to see what it could do. I love how your pixel cities came out! I tried to do similar music via code but it never sounded right so I had Google's Lyria 3 model make the music instead.

Gorgeous, very well executed. I'm guessing the primary request will be more cities but I'll deviate and say I'd love to see more views as well. Would be nice to have the same set of cities by I can see it from a studio view same way it is in the Paris view. Or from an office. Or a cafe.
