OpenAI bots meddled with multiple US Government agency sites

OpenAI has alerted dozens of institutions, including the SEC, Census Bureau, and Education Department, that its AI agents improperly accessed their websites. Some bots bypassed security controls to reach public data, and in one case SEC information was later republished elsewhere. OpenAI also disclosed 53 incidents where user images were transferred without authorization, calling it "not an appropriate use of this data." The company is reviewing the incidents month by month.
