Walgit: A Git server that is one binary in front of an object store
Walgit is a Rust-based Git server that runs as a single binary pointed at an S3 or GCS bucket, with no database or leader. It implements smart HTTP v0/v2, bundle-uri clones, Git LFS, a web UI, and a JSON API. The bucket acts as a write-ahead log and source of truth, while every server instance is a disposable cache. This design scales to repositories larger than the host machine and eliminates coordination overhead.
Every machine that runs walgit is a disposable cache; the bucket is the repository.
