Meta takes down a critical video about meta AI Glasses after filming at Meta
Dutch producer Roel Maalderink filmed Meta employees with Meta AI glasses for a critical video made with privacy group Bits of Freedom. Meta removed it from Facebook and Instagram, citing possible bullying and harassment. Maalderink says none of his satirical videos had ever been taken down before. Bits of Freedom researcher Eva de Goeij calls the move a display of Meta's power over public debate.
Meta determines what can be publicly discussed and how the debate unfolds. Apparently, there is no room within that system for criticism of itself.

We need to move beyond just banning these glasses - all smart glasses of all kinds - to breaking up these companies. Undo the acquisitions of Insta and Whatsapp - I don't care that will be expensive, thats a shareholders problem.

He did harass them a bit. I'm looking forward to Meta taking down all videos where someone is a bit harassed. Internet will be a much nicer place!

Case closed. People that are very familiar with these glasses need to ask. These devices need to get banned.

There are some Meta employees reading this thread and thinking: "well, he did harass them!"
That said, I hope that real harassment starts to happen. Meta doesn't care about social boundaries when it benefits them, so it's fair game
