In March, Microsoft's official Copilot Discord server blocked messages containing "Microslop," a nickname born from frustration with Copilot's aggressive integration into Windows 11. Six months later, the ban is gone, and users post the word freely. Microsoft also scaled back Copilot entry points, removed the button from Snipping Tool, and renamed it in Notepad. The company didn't defeat the nickname; it made it less necessary.
Maybe Microsoft did not defeat "Microslop." It feels like they just made the word less necessary.

Like most things Microsoft, "gave up after six months" is accurate.
