Sherline Tools, a 50-Year-Old American Manufacturer, Is Shutting Down

Sherline Tools, the California maker of precision lathes, mills, and micro-machining equipment, has announced it is winding down manufacturing operations. The company cited the pandemic's effects, rising costs, and changing consumer habits, saying it can no longer remain competitive as a small American manufacturer. Production will continue through the end of October 2026, with some products disappearing sooner. An owner later confirmed the business will close by year's end.

We are not sure of the actual final day, but it would suffice to say that by the end of the year at the latest, Sherline will no longer be in business.
