Germany Builds a Data Ark to Save U.S. Climate Science from Trump

Germany is creating a backup haven for U.S. climate data as the Trump administration slashes funding, buries reports, and removes references to human-caused warming. The German Climate Computing Center in Hamburg will add 5 petabytes of storage for copies of U.S. climate simulations, part of a $35 million effort to safeguard the next U.N. climate assessment due in 2029. The move reflects growing fears that political interference could erase or manipulate critical datasets.

The deletion of data has also become a possibility, and there is a risk that [data] could be manipulated to skew findings in a desired direction.

Imagine all the productive things the EU could do if they stopped channeling emotional teenage angst, maybe they tried to make their own AWS, or facebook. Instead, we get this, and the Canada thing.

    It really is cringey.
