StarCraft returns in 2030 as an open-world shooter

At BlizzCon, Blizzard announced that StarCraft will return in 2030 as an open-world shooter, a decade after the last StarCraft II expansion. The reveal included a cinematic trailer focused on the human United Earth Directorate faction battling the Zerg, with the Protoss only briefly mentioned. While fans are excited, many still hope for a proper real-time strategy sequel.
After a rousing call to militarism, the propaganda-fueled human is faced with the brutal realities of battle, and the character we’ve been following for the last 3 minutes is revealed to be disposable fuel for the meat grinder of war.

They just abandon the entire RTS fan base.
This feels just like the diablo immortal announcement disaster where they announce a product that is completely outside the target audience.
I hope it's good, but it's really disappointing to not just have starcraft 3. Instead we get diablo 5? I wish I could feel positive about any of the blizzcon announcements, but it all feels like an out of touch joke.

I have absolutely no faith in Microsoft to make anything decent with its legacy IPs.
Ohh well

I was wondering what do they exactly mean by "open-world shooter", and checked that Dan Hay guy:
> Executive Producer on Far Cry 5
So it's safe to assume that's what they are aiming for.
