LG denies its TVs spy on you — but won't explain the logs

After Gamers Nexus, Level1Techs, and independent researchers showed LG TVs logging and uploading ambient audio, LG pushed back, claiming its sets "do not continuously record or transmit users' conversations" and that wake-word detection runs locally. The company also says ACR, voice recognition, and interest-based ads are optional and off by default. It stayed silent on how much data it collects, who gets it, and how its privacy settings are presented.

The word "continuously" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, as Gamers Nexus demonstrated an LG TV keeping extensive logs of ambient conversations long after one would assume its AI assistant had stopped listening.
