Project Blinkenlights turns buildings into giant interactive displays
Project Blinkenlights, the Chaos Computer Club's 2001 birthday present to itself, transformed the Haus des Lehrers in Berlin into an 18×8 monochrome display. It grew into light installations on three continents: Arcade in Paris (26×20 pixels, 8 greyscales), Stereoscope in Toronto (96×32 pixels, 16 greyscales), and Polychrome since 2023. The site offers galleries, a Movie Converter, and a press room.
Some things just have to be done.
