Hacker News users build custom filters to hide AI hype
Hacker News with reduced priority for AI driven content
Frustrated by the flood of AI-related posts on Hacker News, users are sharing custom uBlock Origin filters to hide them. One filter removes about a third of front-page stories. Commenters debate whether the goal is to avoid AI entirely or just the endless Claude ads and thinly veiled marketing that dominate the site.
I like AI and AI news, but can't stand the endless Anslopic Claude ads. All this site ever talks about is Claude. It's so annoying. We'd use it if it was good (it's not).

Slow but necessary
My interest in HN has decreased since it feels every other news is about AI
However I'll use the other links provided here, as it takes 10s to display

Does this use AI to determine whether content is about AI?

HN crowd criticize social media for algorithmic feeds. They are proud that HN is more organic.
Now they want exactly that when they don't like what they see?

I previously worked on this, but made substanital improvements to the underlying implementation, and now the filters work much better.
This is also a general purpose tool that you can modify/customize
