LG's smart TVs are spying on you — here's how to stop them

A new investigation by Gamers Nexus and Level1Techs reveals that LG OLED televisions are capturing audio, recording webcam feeds, and scanning home networks even when the TV appears to be off. The TVs transcribe conversations in plaintext, and vulnerabilities in webOS allow remote access to this data. With LG's ad arm claiming data from 216 million TVs, the only real fix is to disconnect your TV from the internet entirely.
Even worse, vulnerabilities in webOS, LG's choice of operating system, allowed the team to pull the audio data and listen in.
