Colin Percival announces Route 53 Files, a new file system that mounts AWS Route 53 hosted zones as NFS volumes on EC2, ECS, EKS, or Lambda. You can edit DNS records with standard UNIX tools like echo, tee, and ln, and changes propagate to live DNS in about 90 seconds. It supports concurrent access, last-write-wins conflict resolution, and integrates with IAM. The service is free, but you pay for underlying AWS resources. It's available in all commercial regions except Bahrain and UAE.
