Europe's last regular standard-gauge steam passenger service

The Wolsztyn steam locomotive depot in Poland still operates daily scheduled passenger trains pulled by steam locomotives, making it the last regular standard-gauge steam service in Europe. From Monday to Friday, the train runs between Wolsztyn and Zbąszynek; on Saturdays, it runs to Poznań. Tickets are available online, at the station, or from the train manager. Note that from August 20-28, 2026, a diesel locomotive will substitute due to periodic maintenance of the Pt47-65.

The train with a steam locomotive runs on weekdays on the Wolsztyn – Zbąszynek route, and on Saturdays on the Wolsztyn – Poznań route.
