Graze Joins Flipboard to Decentralize the Social Algorithm

Graze, a tool that lets anyone build and run their own social algorithm, is joining Flipboard to accelerate its mission of decentralizing the attention economy. In 21 months, Graze has sent over 41 billion posts to 12 million people. The combined entity will pair Flipboard's platform with Graze's engine, enabling curators to build, tune, and monetize feeds across Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, and RSS without writing code. The founders share a vision of an attention economy without kings, where no single entity controls what people see.

We seek to diffuse that power so widely that no single entity wields it ever again - both as a moral cause, as well as a push towards a more efficient, more competitive attention economy that works better for everyone.

Hi to my x-colleagues who did not expect to see Flipboard when they opened up HN this morning :)

Congrats to the current team, excited to see where this goes as FB coalesces the social web

On the one hand, SV-speak has trained me to read acquisitions as an end of good stuff. On the other, if this ATProto experiment really is something different, we need to be willing to consider that old patterns don't hold and expect something better.

    I like the optimistic track.
