The Democratic Republic of the Congo's current Ebola outbreak has become the country's fastest growing, with over 5,200 cases recorded in the first 100 days. Transmission is outpacing control efforts, averaging 90 confirmed cases daily, higher than during the same period in the 2014–2016 West Africa and 2018–2020 DRC outbreaks. Ituri province remains the epicenter, accounting for 85% of cases. Challenges include insecurity, displacement, and community reluctance. WHO and partners have scaled up laboratory capacity, treatment beds, and community engagement, but warn that incremental gains are insufficient.
