Chinese robot Lightning runs 100m in 9.32 seconds, beating Usain Bolt's world record

A humanoid robot named Lightning, developed by Chinese smartphone maker Honor, sprinted 100 meters in 9.32 seconds during a test event for the World Humanoid Robot Games, surpassing Usain Bolt's 9.58-second world record. The robot reached a peak speed of 14.5 m/s and had its legs lengthened by 10 cm since winning the Beijing half marathon in April. China is pushing humanoid robots for manufacturing and logistics.

The humanoid, developed by Chinese smartphone manufacturer Honor, reached a peak speed of 14.5 metres per second during a test event for the second World Humanoid Robot Games, which begin on Saturday.
